libgdal1h software package provides Geospatial Data Abstraction Library, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libgdal1h
libgdal1h is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libgdal1h package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libgdal1h *
You will get with libgdal1h package name, version, architecture and description in a table
